Building, Branding & Managing a Carolina Community
Last week Local Conversations had a chance to interview Tara Hunt (@missrogue on twitter) while she was in Raleigh, NC for MyNC Camp and a few other projects. Tara’s blog is called Horsepigcow. For those who don’t know MissRogue, I had chance to interview her on career as a marketing consulting for online communities, her upcoming book title “The Whuffie Factor” , coworking and how did she come up with the name MissRogue and the blog title Horsepigcow.
A few other topics we discussed were the role video in online communities and her thoughts on how social networks are more suitable for women.

Local Conversations had a chance to interview Gwen Bell from Tech Stars while on an East Coast network swing. Gwen who attended UNC has traveled from Carrboro/Chapel Hill, to Boulder Colorado, back to Carrboro and now back to Boulder Colorado to work for Tech Stars. Gwen who also represents Colorado startups and I had a few moments to chat about her role with both companies, her journey form Carolina to Boulder and places in between. We also talked about how important personal branding is online and what advice she would give to anyone who’s looking to launch a startup.
We covered other topics such as are we seeing a new feminist movement online with women being the new face of tech such as Amanda Congdon (I said Amanda Moody, sorry Amanda), Veronica Belmont and Tara Hunt. Clearly Gwen is the leading lady in the Boulder, Colorado but she’s not done with just Tech Stars. See what else she has planned at the end of the interview.
