Central North Carolina Storm Damage Pictures

Twenty Eight Warnings! That’s how busy the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, May 20, 2008 was for Central North Carolina. On top of that, we had nine pages of damage reports from the National Weather Service! Most of the damage was from straight line winds and hail moving through with the heavy rain, thunder and lightning.

The good news was that we received another dose of rain to continue to help cure our drought. Many of the pictures sent to NBC17 during and after the storm are posted below. If would like to send us pictures or storm reports, please send them to: newstips@wncn.com

Wes: I am an idiot! I was right out in the middle of this storm, had my digital camera with me, and didn’t even have the faintest wisp of an idea to shoot anything for you, to get anywhere near to crossing my mind! Sorry! (See opening statement.)

And that was a really photogenic storm, too! (Foot-stomping temper tantrum.) Oh well, maybe next time (if there is one.)
