The World In St. Louis

After a few days away from the friendly confines of the NBC17 studios, I’m back in time for another round of heat and possible hurricanes.

Jumped in the car last Tuesday for the thirteen hour trip to St. Charles, Missouri to see my family and participate in a friend’s wedding.  Unfortunately, if you think that I left just in time to avoid the heat in the Triangle, you are wrong!  St. Louis had temperatures of 100, 98 and 96 the same time Raleigh had record highs of 102, 104 and 104 last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The bad news is that our area will see temperatures close to the century mark AGAIN later this week!

Now, I don’t want to fill the whole blog complaining about the heat.  We actually had a great trip to St. Louis and so did our Yellow Lab, Zoe…she got to meet her cousins Annie and Missy, check out the picture below.

The World also got to see the 2006 World Series trophy, currently owned by the St. Louis Cardinals.  The funny (or sad) thing is that I was NEXT in line to have a picture taken with the trophy; that was until Mr. security guard walked up and told me the young lady in front of me was the last one for the night.  I guess I could Photoshop myself in later…but here is the picture I got….sans me.

Lots going on in the Weather World this week…heat and hurricanes.  Stay tuned!
