Gianni and Gaitano’s

All I have to say is delish! This week myself and 3 of my co-workers went to lunch together in Wake Forest/Wakefield/North Raleigh..whatever you might want to call it. You know me, and I love Italian food so when we decided on Gianni and Gaitano’s I was pumped! I had never been there before nor knew it was there, but really enjoyed it.

We got there around 1:30, which is a later lunch but I was surprised by the lack of people that were there. I’m hoping that people had eaten lunch earlier because if you do not know that place is there, you are definitely missing out! We started the meal off with Long Stem Artichokes(stuffed with goat cheese and seasoned bread crumbs with EVOO, garlic, white wine and butter)….yummy!! It was soo good. We all then ordered something different. Lisa got the Penne Rustico(grilled chicken, fresh spinach and roasted peppers tossed with penne pasta in a pink cream sauce) and Doug got the Rigatoni Vodka(rigatoni tossed with prosciutto, onions and vodka in a pink filetto sauce). I have to say both looked pretty good, but I didn’t get a chance to try either one. Jessica got the baked ziti which I tried and it was delicious.

Then there was my meal, the pasta of all pastas, and I think it was pretty healthy for me too! When you go you have to try this dish..Fussili Fiorentina (imported whole wheat pasta with goat cheese, spinach, grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes in a garlic white wine consomme). It’s one of those dishes that is so good and doesn’t really make you have that feeling of “omigoodness I just ate way too much”! The sauce is very light, but has an incredible flavor, and the way all the ingredients came together was perfect!

We were there for lunch so I’m not sure how different their dinner menu is, but I definitely recommend trying Gianni and Gaitano’s when your in the Wake Forest/Wakefield/North Raleigh area! They also have other locations in Raleigh so if your not in that area you probably have one near you, just check out their website!

I absolutely LOVED my dish! The combination of spinach and roasted peppers drenched in the pink sauce is what gave the chicken quite a flavor.

G&G’s has a GREAT atmosphere too. I’d go back for a little din-din, for sure!

You’ve got me drooling! The long stem artichokes alone sound good enough to bring me in! I might have to convince my husband it’s time for a date night soon!

Mine was great too… but it was one of those pasta dishes that would have been super incredible the next day!

My favorite was Teran’s pasta and Jessica’s baked ziti. The chicken in Lisa’s was pretty darn tasty though too!

This restaurant is also owned by a great family that does a lot for their community!
