Early Ride and Booty Update
I love getting out on the road early. It was just before 7 Saturday morning when I snapped these pics. It started off a bit foggy and then an awesome sunrise. It was me, my bike and the road… what peace. Two (plus) hard hours… 42 miles (67.5 km)… 19.3 mph (31.06 kmh) average.
I had taken the last week off and it felt really good to get back into the spin. I even hit the hills pretty strong. I think I needed the rest!
As for my 24 Hours of Booty update, THANKS so much for your support. I’m up to $1,575.00. I can still raise funds now for the entire effort, I believe up until July 25th. So, I’ll let you all know how much we contribute to the effort of reaching $1 million for the Charlotte, NC Booty event and beating cancer!

BRIAN– Thanks bud. I watched the boys (as Phil Ligett calls them) climb Hautacam today. Schleck reminded me a bit of you. Get going… if you plan on being in the Tour in 5 or 6 years you need to be on form… Allez… Allez!
JEFF– I’m confused which Jeff is writing. Anyway… Thanks to all those who got me there… they deserve the credit for the awesome donations!
CHRIS– Thank you! As for the racing… What are you trying to talk me into here Chris? Actually… I have been thinking I would get my act together and register next year to try a couple of sanctioned races. I’ll let you know or I may be asking the veterans like you some questions.
@Chris: I’m with you. Donald would be a serious contender in any race.
Nice average speed you are turning out by yourself. I only manage those average speeds when in a group.
GROOVER– Thanks! you all are pumping me up here. Don’t set me up too much! Like I told Chris… if I finally get my act together and get a license to race a few sanctioned races… I will certainly let you all know. Hope all is well in the colder days down under… but I’m sure Cadel’s Tour performance on Hautacam takes your mind off the weather! Glad to see him do well!
Nice photos, I totally know what you mean about how peaceful it can be in the morning. And how good it can feel to spin.

Putting the rest of the Booty team to shame. Well done!
