Who’s Your Tour Favorite?
Who’s the best stage racer going into the Tour? Alejandro Valverde is showing great form in the
Dauphine’… especially with his smashing stage 3 ITT performance. Levi had a strong ride as well but finished 19 seconds behind Valverde. But thanks to the ASO… we all know Levi will be watching the Tour on TV, maybe even having a beer alongside Alberto. Then there’s the Aussie favorite Cadel Evans. With such strong finishes in past Tours… he’s determined to wear Yellow into Paris. VeloNews has talked about this year’s race being a “classic course with many unnowns.” Tour de France race director Christian Prudhomme has said, “We want to create a race that is not predictable.”
I’m sure I’m leaving out some of your favorites or at least possible contenders.
So, what are your thoughts on who’s got the legs to wear yellow?

With all this smoke due to the fires…any tips for those who want to excersise outside?
Go Cadel! Go Robbie! Go Stuart!
mbalbo– I say skip it and hit the trainer or a killer spin class. Save your lungs… they’ll thank you.
Groover– WOW… I would have never guessed.:) I think I’d also like to see Cadel do well!
I am quite happy to say I have no idea. Can’t wait to see the race develop. Vive le Tour!
Arlyn– That is a nice perspective. Maybe you find your favorite as you watch. Being unpredictable may make this year’s Tour a race to remember… but aren’t they all?
Perhaps Damiano Cunego will surprise us all…
Sprocketboy– It would be nice for a surprise like that. Why not … a race that keeps us on the edge of our seats.
My money is on Evans. I can’t wait for the tour to start.
Jeff– it’s a good bet. There will be one helluva Aussie party if he does win.
It is hard to say. But Cadel is almost as boring as Levi and is far too conservative of a racer. If he is going to win he is going to have to try to make things happen for himself and that is not his strong suit.
Chris– good analysis! You might need to be sitting next to Bobke… for pre-race commentary.
Well Cadel was pretty exciting today in the Dauphiné.
It’s hard work attacking a stud like Valverde but Evans and Levi at least “tried”
The Dauphiné has been a great Tour this year.
Will– so true… a fun race to watch. Now– the Tour de Suisse… just counting down the days to the Tour de France.
Go Team Liquigas!!
I loooooooove them Cannondales!!
Hi Mike… Thanks for visiting. Team Liquigas huh… It’ll be interesting in October when Ivan Basso climbs back on the bike for competition with his new team. He says he been training harder than ever… even during the Giro he says he simulated the climbing on this years route.
