Raleigh’s Peace College gets students involved in Decision 08
I had the opportunity to visit my alma mater, Peace College, today for a historical event in this year’s presidential election. Chelsea Clinton added Peace College to her list of NC colleges and universities to visit today. My attendance nor the college’s hosting Chelsea’s visit is not an endorsement of her mother’s race, but the excitement and buzz amongst students and faculty was contagious. I remember Peace College overlooked as the larger universities in the region got all of the attention during the past Presidential election. As a graduate of Peace College I am proud to be among a large network of intelligent, independent and successful alumnae. It was only appropriate that the daughter of the only female presidential candidate visit the college and perhaps plant the seeds for our next female presidential candidate! During this presidential election the majority of the candidates on both sides of the aisle have made efforts to reach out to a diverse range of student populations. Whether or not, attendees at today’s visits at NC State, Peace College and UNC-CH plan to vote to the Democratic hopeful, Hillary Clinton, or not, all of these folks can say that they got the chance to see her daughter in person. In an effort to cater to America’s young women, the Clinton campaign produced this video for You Tube.
Did you attend any of today’s Chelsea Clinton visits around the Triangle? I’d love to hear about your experiences…If you enjoyed this post, please consider leaving a comment or subscribe to the feed and get future articles delivered to your feed reader or email.

Yay Women’s College graduates! I attended Hollins University in Roanoke, VA and always take up the banner for women’s education and leadership.-Jessica
Excellent article. I must admit that I would like to see Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as the running mate on Senator John McCain’s ticket. Many barriers would come down with her as America’s Vice President.

Glad to hear you were there for this historical moment. I really enjoyed the video you included…in fact, I am going to use a quote from it for my blog!!!
