Annual Jefferson-Jackson Breakfast Is Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Democratic Party is expecting record attendance at the 38th Annual Jefferson-Jackson Breakfast fundraiser Saturday.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Irene Natividad of the National Women’s Political Caucus will speak on behalf of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, respectively. NC gubernatorial candidate Beverly Perdue will also speak. Congressman Brad Miller, Congressman David Price, Congressman Bob Etheridge, U.S. Senate candidates Kay Hagan and Jim Neal will be attending the event in addition to many Democratic candidates running in statewide and local races.

The breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Downtown Raleigh. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Tickets to the event are $35. Funds raised from the event will be contributed to Democratic candidates in the general election.

Democrats Meet and Greet with Public Monday

RALEIGH, N.C. — A forum for North Carolina Democratic Candidates will take place Monday at the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive.

 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — Meet & Greet

6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Democratic Candidates Forum

The public is invited to meet Democratic candidates running for office and hear their campaign platforms.

Democratic candidates running for all federal, state and local levels of government are invited to participate. During the forum, democratic candidates without a contested primary will be recognized. Democratic candidates with a contested primary will be given an opportunity to present their campaign platform. Tables will be available for campaign and voter registration materials.

NBC17, N&O Poll: Voters Concerned About Economy And Illegal Immigration, Undecided On Candidates

RALEIGH, N.C. — A North Carolina telephone poll conducted for NBC17, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer and WCNC of Charlotte shows that those polled view the economy and illegal immigration as two of the most important issues facing both the state and the nation in the next election. The poll also shows that most Democratic voters are still undecided between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Voter Registration Deadline Approaching

April 11 is the last day to register to vote, update your address or change affiliation for the May 6 primary election.

For Wake County voters, the voter registration form must be postmarked by, or hand delivered to, the Wake County Board of Elections, 337 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, by 5 p.m. on that date.
