Democrats Meet and Greet with Public Monday

RALEIGH, N.C. — A forum for North Carolina Democratic Candidates will take place Monday at the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive.

 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — Meet & Greet

6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Democratic Candidates Forum

The public is invited to meet Democratic candidates running for office and hear their campaign platforms.

Democratic candidates running for all federal, state and local levels of government are invited to participate. During the forum, democratic candidates without a contested primary will be recognized. Democratic candidates with a contested primary will be given an opportunity to present their campaign platform. Tables will be available for campaign and voter registration materials.

Polls: McCrory Leading Republican Gov. Race

McCrory leads Smith 38-28 with voters who said their top issue was immigration. According to PPP, McCrory’s opponents have been attacking him on that issue lately, but they’re using debates and earned media, rather than the paid advertisements McCrory is using.

“The reality is that few voters are paying attention to either of those things,” the PPP said.

In the race for Lt. Governor, Robert Pittenger is in the lead for the GOP with 12 percent. Greg Dority, Jim Snyder, and Timothy Cook trail with 10 percent, 9 percent and 3 percent respectively.

Pittenger is expected to start spending money, which may alter these figures in the next few weeks, the PPP said.

NBC17, N&O Poll: Voters Concerned About Economy And Illegal Immigration, Undecided On Candidates

RALEIGH, N.C. — A North Carolina telephone poll conducted for NBC17, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer and WCNC of Charlotte shows that those polled view the economy and illegal immigration as two of the most important issues facing both the state and the nation in the next election. The poll also shows that most Democratic voters are still undecided between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Latest Polls: Moore Gains on Perdue, Obama Visit Helps Numbers

The latest Democrat tracking polls from Public Policy Polling show Kay Hagan far in the lead for the U.S. Senate race:
