CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Some SuperVoters for Obama delivered petitions Tuesday, asking the state’s superdelegates to support Obama.
The costumed SuperVoters delivered 2,000 signed petitions to the governor’s office asking Gov. Easley to support Obama in his role as a superdelegate. Easley has endorsed Hillary Clinton.
Voters for Obama is a Chapel Hill coalition of voters. They have a website, www.supervoters.org, that has sparked petition drives to superdelegates in six other states.
The rules say these Democratic elected officials and other party leaders can choose whoever they want, regardless of how their state or district voted.
