Hillary Clinton Courts N.C. Voters Today From

080421_clinton2.JPG   CARY, N.C.– Hillary Clinton remains in North Carolina today to court voters in Cary, Wake Forest and Mooresville.

Senator Hillary Clinton started her day off in Cary High School’s auditorium, fielding questions from moms, but dozens of Clinton supporters are anxiously awaiting the senator’s arrival in Wake Forest.

At a town-hall forum sponsored by momlogic.com, the presidential-hopeful addressed everything from gas prices to child rearing.

She also had to answer questions about the increased amount of mud slinging in her campaign against Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

“The historic nature of this campaign has probably created more passion than we’ve had in politics in a long time,” said Clinton, while reiterating that she believes the Democratic Party will still line up behind the candidate who wins out.

She kept on the offensive, saying she’s more qualified and electable than Obama.

“I have unique experiences that equip me to go into that Oval Office,” she said.

Because of the format of the event, many of the topics turned back towards family issues.

“I’ve always thought that toddlers and teenagers need the same amount of attention,” she said, talking about the amount of change teenagers nowadays go through. ”Figure out some way that your kids and you have that time together.”

She joked about dealing with dating, saying she never had to worry about who Chelsea went out with because there was always a Secret Service agent with a gun in the front seat.

Clinton was scheduled to speak around 10 a.m on the front porch of the Wake Forest College Birthplace Museum located at 414 North Main Street.  However Clinton is still in Cary and the event in Wake Forest will be delayed.

Dressed in t-shirts with the senator’s name painted on them, ornamented with Hillary pins and banners in tow, supporters have been lined up Main Street since dawn just to get a glimpse of the presidential hopeful.
Friday night, Clinton attended the Jefferson Jackson Dinner at the Dorton Arena at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. This years’ event was the most attended Jefferson Jackson Dinner in state history.

Obama also attended last night’s Jefferson Jackson Dinner, but has no scheduled events in North Carolina today
