Going “Green” and The 11th Hour
Just about everybody who knows me knows that I’m a HUGE fan of Leonardo DiCaprio. As a matter of fact, I just mentioned his latest movie will be debuting in less than two months (and yes, I’m counting down the days).
Besides his fine acting skills, one of the reasons I like him is because of his passion for the environment and the impact that global warming has on it. Last summer, Leo released an impressive documentary entitled The 11th Hour in wide-release. I have yet to see the documentary but it’s on In-Demand now and I do plan to watch.
I bring the movie up because as part of NBC 17’s efforts to “Go Green” we are hosting a “Get to Know Your Greenies” event at the Greenfire Development (108 Morris St.) in downtown Durham TONIGHT from 5-8pm. We want to meet with Triangle area “Greenies” that are making a difference no matter how big or how small. If you are interested in networking with a bunch of folks just like yourself and some of our NBC 17, MyNC.com, and 30Threads.com personnel, please plan to join us. See this link for more information.
In the meantime, if you’ve seen The 11th Hour, I’d love to know your opinion on the flick. Drop a comment here. I’ll be watching it very soon and will leave my two cents here when I do. You know I will!
Until next time, see YOU at the movies!
