As predicted (pretty much everywhere) the film version of the HBO series, Sex In The City topped the Box Office beating out Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by a narrow margin. Must have been all those women who couldn’t wait to either flaunt their own “Carrie-style” (or daydream about having one) as they stepped out on the town with their gal pals or signifcant others.
Interesting to note that once again, Iron Man and Chronicles seem to be neck-in-neck with an even narrower margin of gross box office receipts. Didn’t I predict that would continue to happen?
The Liv Tyler thriller The Strangers slid in between all the box office smashes with a #3 showing in its first week. Not sure how long this one will last but we’ll have to see.
Coming down the pipeline: Kung Fu Panda (6/6/08), another version of The Incredible Hulk (6/13/08), and one that I look forward to seeing - the Steve Carrell/Anne Hathaway film version of the successful 60’s/early 70’s series, Get Smart. I grew up with Smart and I can’t wait to see if the film does the TV series any justice.
Until next time, see YOU at the movies!

I personally LOVE Steve Carrell (have since his Daily Show days) and am also looking forward to the Get Smart remake. In the meantime, I think I’m the only woman in the U.S. that isn’t planning to go to Sex in the City. I liked the show fine enough, but I can wait until this comes out on DVD.-Jessica
