Builders Go Green, Show Eco-Friendly Homes In Tour

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.– One group of home builders say they are doing more than just installing energy saving appliances.  The Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake is joining forces with the HBA of Durham,

Orange, and Chatham counties to build more eco-friendly homes.

Builders are going green by adding pre-finished flooring, recycled carpet and UV blocking windows to the homes.  Four hundred homes are expected to be “green certified” through the program by next year.Today’s “Green Home Tour” will feature two houses under Hillsborough jurisdiction from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
