Green Funerals

Go Green enthusiasts are making sure they’re green ’till the end. Maine is just one of many states across the U.S. that see green funerals a rising trend.

A green funeral means no preservative chemicals, no metal caskets, no concrete tombs. One article talks about how a family held a green funeral for their mother after she passed. The Green Burial Council is a non-profit organization that “encourages ethical and environmentally sustainable deathcare practices”. They have lists of standards for natural and conservation cemeteries and funerals. Check out their website by clicking here.
