Only In Raleigh - Restaurant going Green?

Last year, the City of Raleigh passed an ordinance to require all restaurants to be a little more green by recycling all of the bottles that they produce as waste. Although most restaurants see this as a nuisance… one restuarant is taking it to the next level…

Winston’s Grille in Sutton Square on Falls of the Neuse Road is going green. They are in the process of installing an enormous rain cistern that will collect rain water from their 8000 square foot roof.

Manager, Will O’Neal, reports that during a short rain shower the rain cistern collects over 1000 gallons of water that they will use for irrigation purposes for their landscaping.

The giant cistern is still in the installation process and when it is complete it will be wrapped in cedar to resemble a gigantic wine barrel.
