Apex High Cougars defeated Greensboro Page tonight, 10-3 to take them into the 4A State Championship game for lacrosse.
The team is gearing up for the NC High School Lacrosse Championship on Saturday at Koskinen Stadium at Duke University. The Cougars will take on the Chapel Hill High Tigers for the State title and the match up will start at 7pm.
I had a chance to catch up with the team captains today. My hosts on campus included Coach John Hayden; senior Joe Nugent, who is headed to UNCW next year with hopes to play club lacrosse; and Parker Wilson, who will play D-1 lacrosse at Sacred Heart University in Conneticut next season. Check out the video below for their analysis of the team this season.

Thank you for your coverage of the lacrosse state championships. Just wanted to let you know that the Apex Women’s lacrosse beat Charlotte Catholic 19-13 on Saturday at Durham county Stadium for the 2008 NC state championship. They won the title in 2007 which was their second year as a varsity sport thanks to our talented coaching staff, especially Jessica Pinneo. We are so proud of the talented athletes at Apex High School. Go Cougars!
