			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> Caroline Farmer, deputy director of the Victims and Citizens Section of the North Carolina Department Justice, will speak on preventing identity theft at the Chapel Hill Jaycees general membership meeting on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will be held at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce on Estes Drive.</p>
<p>Farmer oversees the Attorney General’s statewide efforts on identity theft, financial exploitation of older adults, Internet safety for children and other public policy initiatives. She also serves on the Identity Theft Task Force for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.</p>
<p>The mission of the Chapel Hill Jaycees is to promote personal growth and leadership development for individuals ages 21-40 through community service and social interaction to achieve personal success and have a positive impact on the community. <p>Known as a training ground for community leaders, the Jaycees is an international organization that began in 1921. Each year, member chapters perform community service to benefit many of its charities, including the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC and the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Moving this summer? Doing a little spring cleaning? Just want to get rid  of the extra stuff you&#8217;ve got?</p>
<p>Donate your extra items to the Chapel Hill Jaycees Yard Sale, an annual  event to raise funds for the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC  Hospitals. This year&#8217;s sale will be on Saturday, June 7, on the lawn at  Southern Village. Two drop-off events will be held in May, but donations  are welcome anytime through June 6.</p>
<p>If you have items you&#8217;d like to donate, please e-mail Joanna at  <a href="mailto:managementvp@chapelhilljaycees.org" class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated">managementvp@chapelhilljaycees.org</a>. We&#8217;ll provide more details about  specific drop-off events at a later date.</p>
