Veering Off Into Space….

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Our post yesterday on the Vatican’s astronomer who says its OK to believe in Space Aliens brought us double the normal readership for this little blog.

It also brought us one somewhat cryptic comment.

After following the writer’s advice, I’m taking the unusual step of doing a follow-up to yesterday’s post that may end up having me veer off into space…

This is not the first time the Catholic Church has opened the door to extraterrestrial contact. You need to research Monsignor Corrado Balducci. There’s plenty of stuff about him out there. Even more, if you speak Italian.

It didn’t take but one Google search using the Monsignor’s name to indeed come up with reams of articles, and video of him.

It seems that Monsignor Balducci is a regular fixture on Italian TV where he spouts his E.T. views…

The now retired priest has occupied some very high and important positions in the Vatican—and as you can read here, says extraterrestrial contact is very real.

As Hammers4567, suggested, there is a LOT of material about his pronouncements out there—including a number of video clips—but most of them are in Italian.

However—I did run across one clip—which is a trailer for a DVD about space alien contact.

I’ve included it here because it leads off with a portion of a translated interview with the Monsignor.

Considering how conservative the Catholic Church hierarchy—and the Pope are about things—you’ve got to wonder why they’ve allowed the Monsignor to go on making his claims for what appears to be years…

If he wasn’t telling the truth—or was saying something contrary to what Catholic Hierarchy believed—-there’s no doubt they would have muzzled Monsignor Balducci a long time ago….

So what’s up with this?

Well, as they used to say in the X-Files—the truth is out there.

The question now is, what ELSE is out there?

More idle thoughts and random rants…

WATER MESS…

It seems to me we’re really starting to get into dire straights with regard to the water issue around here.

droughtmud.png

The list of places imposing mandatory and severe restrictions grows daily…

The drought monitor lists much of this area in EXTREME DROUGHT..

19-septdroughtmap.png

Yet— one thing about the restrictions puzzles me— we still get to water our lawns.

For example: Durham is talking about having a little more than 2 months water supply left. Yet, it will allow lawn watering two days a week…

And almost all the restrictions in place in every community which has them allow for limited lawn watering.

In talking with water specialists for the many drought stories we’ve done—they say 50 per cent of all water usage goes to irrigation.

So, why are we wasting water on our grass in a drought this severe?

EYE SEE YOU…

Sometimes, you don’t need words to get the point across…

This revised Logo found its way into my email the other day following revelations that the New England Patriots were using cameras to cheat and grab signals from opposing teams.

THE ULTIMATE LAW SUIT

This has got to be one of the weirdest lawsuit’s I’ve ever heard about.

A Nebraska state senator is suing GOD!

senerniechambers.png-Senator Ernie Chambers

Sen. Chambers claims God has terrorized the earth’s inhabitants, and is asking for a permanent injunction against Acts of God.

He says he can sue God in Nebraska because God is everywhere.

Once you read the accompanying story you can see his motivation. He’s trying to point out the frivolousness of some lawsuits.

The only question I have is—if they got God on the witness stand, would they require God to swear on a bible in order to make sure he told the truth?
