It’s the good guys vs. the bad guys again—only this time—it’s hard to figure out whose on what side in this editon of :

GROUNDS FOR FIRING….

We expect cops to uphold the law—not break it, then lie about breaking it when they get caught.

But apparently a veteran Daytona Beach, Florida cop didn’t understand that oath of office thingee…

He’s accused of shaking down a local Starbucks for free coffee.

Employees of the place say Lt. Major Garvin would show up as many as SIX times a shift demanding free specialty coffees.

As outlined here, he reportedly told the employees if they didn’t give him the freebies, help might not arrive in a timely fashion.

Garvin is quoted as saying:

“If something happens we could respond really fast or really slow. I’m the difference between you getting a two minute response time or a 15 minute response time.”

When Lt. Garvin’s colleagues began investigating complaints about his behavior, he demanded a polygraph test—which he failed.

Now he’s an ex-cop. Guess he brought new meaning to the phrase “hot” coffee..

HE DESERVES A BREAK TODAY….

A decade or so ago—McDonald’s used to use the slogan, “You Deserve a Break Today“…That was about the same time that a young man robbed a McDonald’s at gunpoint in Miami…

Now, McDonald’s is giving him a break.

After serving a dozen years in jail, Tamien Bain is one of 5 finalists in a McDonald’s jingle contest praising the Big Mac.

While he was in jail, Bain became interested in music.

Now, the self-styled Hamburger wants to sing the praises of McDonald’s.

As you can read here, Bain has told The McDonald’s folks about his past—-and they’re still letting him sing for his supper.

The winner gets an all expense-paid trip to Los Angeles.

If he wins, here’s hoping McDonald’s doesn’t pick him up in a pattie-wagon!

HE’S GUNNING FOR YOU….

He’s using hot wheels to stop some criminal activity.

No, he’s NOT a cop—and his hot wheels aren’t stolen cars—that’s the name of the toy radar gun he uses to catch speeders.

11-year old Landon Wilburn uses his Mattel, Hot Wheels radar gun (Yes, it’s a toy—but it really DOES work) to check the speed of people driving through his neighborhood.

Decked out in his bike helmet, orange safety vest and radar gun—Landon’s appearance at the side of the road apparently causes some speeders to stand on the brakes when they spot him targeting their cars.

Landon—who wants to be a cop when he grows up— tells his local newspaper the radar gun works a lot better at slowing down folks than his previous efforts which consisted of just shouting at them..

No word if any of the nabbed motorists has tried to bribe Brandon with free Starbucks coffee to get them off the hook……
