Here we go again with more things that are just nagging little thorns on the rosebush of life…

Once again, we bring you….

HILLARY FATIGUE….

It’s gotten to the point where it’s become wearisome to hear the same old tired refrain out of Hillary that “This is nowhere near over..”

Yes, there are more primaries—and yes, more voting…

hillary-cry.png

But, the math is against her—Democratic party bigwigs have jumped ship in droves, and more and more Superdelegates are coming out for Obama.

Yet, Hillary is now claiming she’s ahead in popular votes because she’s including Michigan and Florida—two states that were sanctioned by the DNC because they didnt follow the rules.

Now, like a petulant child who refuses to behave, Hillary maintains shes in it till “the end.”

As she tries to play the underdog role, she becomes more shrill as she damages what political capital she has left.

It’s all so tiresome now. It’s over Hillary. Now, get over it.

PHONY STATISTICS….

We all know the cellphone has taken over everyone’s lives— and people have them glued to their ears while doing every activity exceppt sleeping..

So are you surprized to learn that 80% of cellphone users surveyed say the talk while driving?

And what’s worse is that according to a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration survey, there are 115 deaths EVERY DAYon the roads in the United States caused by cell phone distraction?

And that distracted driving causes 80 percent of all vehicle accidents?

Several years back, while traveling on an interstate North of Boston, me and a photographer watched in horror as a woman died while talking on her cell phone. While yakking—she swerved, over corrected—and then rolled her SUV on a highway a few car-lengths in front of us.

She was ejected from her vehicle and was dead before an ambulance could reach the scene.

Although I’m not a big fan of bumper stickers, I have to agree with one that I see.

It reads:

GET OFF THE PHONE AND DRIVE.

BUSH LEAGUE JOURNALISM….

The White House is rip-roaring mad with NBC News for what it calls “deceitful” editing of the presidents remarks by one of the network’s correspondents to make it look like Mr. Bush’s comments about the president of Iran were directed at Barack Obama…

At issue are two sentences pulled from the middle of the soundbite…

You can read the details here— including the original quote as well as the edited version, which NBC defends…

While the two sides tussle—I recall the lessons drilled into me early in my career regarding covering the president—ANY President.

There used to be a FIRM RULE in broadcast style-guides that you never called the president by solely by his last name. There was always an appellation, like: THE PRESIDENT, or MR. or PRESIDENT XXX before his name.

The other rule about covering the president was that you NEVER internally edited remarks by the president. You could pull soundbites from speeches etc— but you never took ANYTHING out of the middle of them.

The reigning theory being everything the president says has the power to create an incident—so you didn’t mess with the words.

I’ve long noticed hardly any broadcaster or print reporter gives the president an appellation anymore—and now we’re cutting up his remarks to suit some purpose or another….

Is it any wonder why folks think the media has an agenda?

Wake up guys—we’re not helping our own cause here !
