Etha-NO….

Crude hit $111.00 a barrel Sunday.
At some point during the day, you’ll probably hear some newscaster say “crude oil has reached another record high ” as you’re told the latest not so surprising news about the price of petroleum…
And, you’ll no doubt hear someone talk about the need to switch to alternative fuels—-like Ethanol.

…But, [...]

Flushed With Determination…

Having just finished a battle with one of those 24-hour viruses—it felt like I’d spent all day on the toilet…

RESERVED SEAT….

But, I stopped feeling sorry for myself when I read here of a woman in Kansas who spent SO MUCH time on her toilet—that her body had actually moulded itself to the device.

For 2 [...]

Gnome On The Rage…

A while back, we had some fun with a colleague’s penchant for taking pictures of his garden gnome in various odd locations—and posting them in a picture blog.

You can read that post here.

We also linked to his blog—because it was a fun little thing.

But in the tiny, Argentinian town of General Guemes, folks are in [...]

Clean Up Your Own Mess…

Most folks think politicians spend their careers doing to the public what Eliot Spitzer is accused of doing with high-priced call girls—and yesterday— he apologized for it.

But he didn’t apologize alone. He dragged his wife on stage to stand there while he did it.
Watch her closely in this clip.

How revolting of Spitzer.
This poor [...]

More Political Stew….

Now, here’s another helping of the stew that’s got lots of tidbits for you….

RED IN THE FACE PHONE….
Hillary’s recent “Red Phone AD” is being viewed by pundits as one of the reasons why she gained voters in Texas And Ohio… They say she was able to define Barack Obama as the person you [...]

Don’t Back Off Now…

Yeah—so it rained a few inches—and it’s gonna rain again this weekend—but that doesn’t mean the drought is over.

Like an alcoholic who insists he can just have one drink and stay sober— some communities think because they’re seeing water where there once was mud and grass—they can start backing off on restrictions.

But the water we’re [...]

And Then There Were Three…

Now that John McCain has clinched it on the Republican side, it’s time to watch it play out between Hillary and Obama..

THE PENN IS MIGHTIER THAN THAN THE CANDIDATE….

The next big event is Pennsylvania primary… And that’s seven weeks away.

Between now and then momentum can be lost—-perceptions can be changed, and the race can [...]

Techno Buffet…

Science continues to do amazing things… Here’s a few neat offerings from the techno-buffet that sits before us in 2008…

EYE SPY…
If you’ve ever gazed up into the night sky with a pair of binoculars or used a commercially available telescope and wished you had a toy like the big boys to really see [...]

A Military Disgrace…

We’ve got thousands of brave men and women fighting for us in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places in the globe—and they do us proud …

We’ve all witnessed the sacrifices they and their families have made to help make life comfortable for us back at the home-front…

However—all it takes is one person with poor judgement [...]

Monster Mash…

Crypotozoologists are the folks who study exotic creatures—both extinct—and those who supposedly inhabit the back woods and remote areas of our planet.
And, in near-by South Carolina—just a scant 180 miles south of Raleigh—they’ve got some fresh meat to work with.

Seems the creature of Scape Ore Swamp is back—and angry…
Known as “The Lizard Man”, these [...]
